MINUTES OF THE MONTHLY BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

SECTOR 2A AT SNOHOMISH CASCADE ASSOCIATION

7:00 PM   TUESDAY   April 7, 2009

 

CALL TO ORDER / APPROVAL OF MINUTES

  1. Bill Steenis called the meeting to order at 7:11pm.  Present were Bill Steenis, Steve Yandl, Trina Coleman, Joyce Bowen, Duane Oord, Cheryl Carlson and Allen Kerr.
  2. There was a closed meeting on March 24th to discuss legal strategy with Sherman Knight in regards to the rental situation with the Guimonts and the Sharmas.
  3. Trina Coleman presented the Minutes from the March meeting.  It was moved and seconded to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried 6 – 0.
TREASURER’S REPORT

  1. The balance in the checking account is $72,749 currently in the checking account. In the money market fund there is $23,632 which is the operational reserve and in the long term reserve there is $58,146 but $9,800 needs to be transferred from the checking into this fund.
  2. There are 6 homeowners who have not paid their dues. These homeowners have been notified via certified mail. Liens will be filed prior to May 1 on those homeowners who have not paid any dues.
MAINTENANCE

  1. Towne and Country Fence has given us an estimate of $1300 to replace the fence section on Sno-Cascade just beyond the fire station prior to 67th Drive.
  2. The mailbox near Brian Schmidt was knocked over by a Verizon subcontractor. We have ordered a new mailbox and need to work with Verizon for reimbursement.
ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL COMMITTEE REPORT

  1. Several letters have been sent out regarding vehicle storage that there is a 72 hour limit for RV and boat storage.
  2. There is a house on 67th Drive that has had a car on blocks for over a week, we will give them a few more days and then send a letter reminding them of the 72 hour limit.
  3. Several approvals have been given for patio/boat covers.
YARD of MERIT

  1. We have some judges but could use some additional.
  2. Judging will begin in April for the month of May. There is a more simplified judging form for this year.
 

OLD BUSINESS

  1. Rentals
    1. Sharma – We have not heard anything back from the Sharmas. We do not think that Sherman Knight has written the letter as of yet.
    2. Sharma – Sherman Knight sent  a letter the Sharma’s.
    3. Guimont – No word from Guimonts. Sherman will be following up with a letter to their new attorney.
    4. Warner – The variance expires on April 10th. Fines will begin on April 16th.  A letter will be written to the Warner’s notifying them of this.
  2. Little League – All seems to be going well.
NEW BUSINESS

1.     Elections- All existing members will stand for reelection in May.

2.     CC& R Rules Clarifications

a.    There was discussion in regards to the section on flags and also on the coverage of boat and trailers.

b.    There was a motion by Duane to accept the rules clarifications and to present them to the Homeowners at the annual meeting. This was seconded by Joyce and approved unanimously.
